A memorial service for Katherine Ognibene, of Williamsville, was held March 7 in Lombardo Funeral Home, Amherst.
Mrs. Ognibene died March 4 in her home under hospice care. She was 84.
Born Katherine LoVallo in Buffalo, she graduated from School 77 and Hutchinson-Central High School.
During World War II, she worked for the Army Signal Corps in Buffalo. She worked as a cleaner at Erie County Hall from 1980 to 1989, when she retired.
Mrs. Ognibene enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She was a former Republican committeewoman.
Her husband, Gerard N., died in 1991.
Survivors include a son, Joseph G. of Williamsville, and three sisters, Mildred Lumes of the Town of Tonawanda, Marion Zaccagnino of the Town of Boston and Livia LoVallo of Williamsville.
