Gladene M. Storey of North Tonawanda, a 50-year employee of Jenss' flagship department store in the City of Tonawanda, died Sunday in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. She was 96.
Born Gladene Kitchen in Penfield, Pa., she moved to North Tonawanda with her family at age 16. She was a member of the last class to graduate from Felton High School in 1927.
On July 1, 1948, Mrs. Storey went to work at the Jenss store. Fifty years later to the date, she retired as office manager.
A major fan of the Buffalo Bills, she attended their home games until last fall.
Mrs. Storey was a former member of Friedens United Church of Christ and Zion United Church of Christ.
Her husband of 46 years, Matthew H., died in 1977.
Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Goerss of North Tonawanda and Joan Waterstrat of Sanborn; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion United Church of Christ, Parker Boulevard and Koenig Circle, Town of Tonawanda. Burial was in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
