Florence Davis died Tuesday in her Buffalo home after a brief illness. She was 73.
Born in Fort Motte, S.C., she attended Columbia, S.C., schools and came to Buffalo in the mid-1950s. She attended high school and beauty school in Buffalo, then worked as a home care nurse's aide from 1971 to 1978.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and its Usher Board.
She enjoyed cooking, hair dressing and sewing.
Survivors include a daughter, Adrienne Smith, and two sons, Raymond Smith and Robert Smith, all of Buffalo; a sister, Maggie Jimmerson of Gaskin, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
A wake will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, followed by services at 11 in Providence Memorial Chapel, 1275 Sycamore St. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, West Seneca.
