STOCKTON -- A house fire Wednesday morning sent a mother and three children to the hospital.

Assistant Stockton Fire Chief Robert Kawski said the blaze, called in about 4 a.m. at 7369 Route 380, heavily damaged the large two-story home.

Three children and their mother were taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk for treatment. The mother and one child suffered from smoke inhalation; the other two children had related medical conditions. All were treated and released.

The cause of the fire has not been determined. Crews were at the scene several hours. Stockton was assisted by firefighters from Brocton, Cassadaga, Sinclairville, Lily Dale, Gerry, Fredonia and Ellery Center.
