>Six area libraries get set of classic Americana
Six area libraries have been awarded a set of 15 classic books on the American experience through the National Endowment for the Humanities' "We the People" bookshelf program, Rep. Thomas M. Reynolds announced Wednesday. Two thousand sets of books are being distributed nationwide.
The recipients are Amherst Main Library at Audubon, Attica Middle School Library, Eggertsville-Snyder Library, Williamsville Library, Clearfield Library and Wyoming Free Library.
The books include "Rip Van Winkle" by Washington Irving, "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith, "Barrio Boy" by Ernesto Galarza and "The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin."
