Michael J. Craig, who worked in maintenance, died unexpectedly Sunday in Millard Fillmore Hospital. He was 56.
A lifelong Buffalo resident, Mr. Craig graduated from East High School and studied at Wilberforce University and Buffalo State College.
For 18 years, he was employed as a maintenance man for senior citizen apartments operated by St. Ann Catholic Church and Delta Development.
Mr. Craig was a member of God's Holy Temple 1.
"Michael was always there to help everybody, and so many seniors depended on him," said his wife of 26 years, the former D. Ann Keith.
Mr. Craig enjoyed weightlifting.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four daughters, Marilyn, Michele, Kelly and Candace; a son, Joshua Michael Jackson; his mother, Rose M.; two brothers, Ronald and Raymond; and five grandchildren. All live in Buffalo.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John Baptist Church, 184 Goodell St. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca.
