James M. Nablo of Genison, Mich., a Buffalo native and retired employee of Electronic Data Systems and General Motors Corp., died Monday in Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus, Grand Rapids, Mich., after a brief illness. He was 62.
The Buffalo native graduated from Kenmore West High School and attended Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J.
Mr. Nablo worked at the GM Powertrain Plant in the Town of Tonawanda for about 20 years and then worked as a systems analyst for EDS for 20 years.
While working for EDS, he was transferred to an office in Michigan in 1985. He stayed in Michigan after he retired in 2001 to be near his daughters.
He was a voracious reader and enjoyed landscaping.
His wife, Sandie Marcinowski Nablo, died in 2001.
Survivors include two daughters, Kristen Bickel of Grandville, Mich., and Kendra McLaughlin of South Lyon, Mich.; a sister, Gail Figura of Rochester, Mich.; and four granddaughters.
Services will be in Grandville.
