Antoinette Volpe of Niagara Falls, a teacher for 30 years, died Monday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. She was 84.
Born Antoinette DelBrocco in Greensburg, Pa., she moved to Niagara Falls with her family when she was a child. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School and Medaille College.
After a stint as a secretary at Du Pont during World War II, Mrs. Volpe taught kindergarten and first grade at St. Joseph's Catholic School from 1959 until retiring in 1990.
Her husband, Felix, died in 1983.
Survivors include two sons, John of Batavia and Gerald of Lewiston; a daughter, Mary Lou Rossi of Niagara Falls; a brother, Dominic DelBrocco of Phoenix; a sister, Mary Cipolla of the Town of Tonawanda; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1413 Pine Ave. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
