A memorial service for Veleea Saintcross, a retired systems analyst and former Erie County sheriff's deputy, was held Sunday in Somerset condominiums, Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
Mrs. Saintcross died Wednesday in Florida Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 72.
Born in Woodward, Okla., she moved to Buffalo in 1960. She was a computer systems analyst at Calspan Corp. for 16 years and lived in West Seneca for 33 years before retiring to Lauderdale Lakes in 1994. She also was a sheriff's deputy for several years in the 1970s, working in the Erie County Holding Center.
Mrs. Saintcross was vice president of her condominium association in Florida.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Cicero of Niagara Falls; a son, Michael of Jefferson, Mo.; a sister, Myrtle Ruttman of Mooreland, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
