Robert H. Wright of Amherst, a retired systems analyst, died Tuesday in Hospice of Union County, Monroe, N.C. He was 91.
Born in Gilman, Ill., he was a graduate of Drummond Township High School in Gibson City, Ill.
Mr. Wright moved to Buffalo in the 1950s and received a degree in business from the University of Buffalo.
He worked as a systems analyst for several companies before joining the New York State Employment Service as an employment counselor, from which he retired in 1986.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Tonawanda Sportsmen's Club and was active in local Democratic politics, primarily as an advocate for retirees.
His wife of 40 years, Jean Conner Wright, died in 1996.
Survivors include two daughters, Kate Nash of Waxhaw, N.C., and Carolyn of Austin, Texas, and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be in North Carolina. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Orchard Park.
