Denine Latrice Reese, graduate student
Sept. 27, 1970 -- March 21, 2006

Denine Latrice Reese of Cheektowaga, a Canisius College graduate student and administrative assistant at Verizon in Buffalo, died Tuesday in Amherst. She was the victim of a homicide. She was 35.

Ms. Reese was born in Buffalo and received her bachelor's degree at D'Youville College. She was pursuing her master's degree in business management at Canisius College at the time of her death.

Ms. Reese was a member of the Verizon C.I.T.E. and the Grover Cleveland High School mentoring program. She was a talented hairstylist who loved to dress up and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She had been looking forward to becoming a grandmother this summer.

Ms. Reese is survived by two daughters, Dominique Montgomery and Jazmin Wiggins, and a son, Jaylin Wiggins, all of Cheektowaga; her mother, Marsha Jones, and her stepfather, Robert Jones, both of Buffalo; her father, Douglas of Buffalo; six sisters, Darlene Fitzgerald, Bobbie Brown, Anginell Reese and Coretta Reese, all of Buffalo, Tawana Wiggins of Cheektowaga and Bethina Rodriguez of Houston; two brothers, Tamayne Tounsel and Mark Johnson, both of Buffalo; and a grandmother, Barbara Reese of Buffalo.

A wake is scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday in White Rock Baptist Church, 480 E. Utica St., followed by a funeral service at noon. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
