Carolyn E. Celenza, a former nurse's aide and beautician, died Monday at home after a brief illness. She was 67.
Born Carolyn E. Naughton in Monroe County, Pa., she moved to Niagara Falls as a child and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
She then attended Niagara County Community College and became a nurse's aide, assisting several home care aides.
Mrs. Celenza also owned several beauty salons. She was employed as a teller at an Off-Track Betting parlor in Niagara Falls for seven years.
She was a member of Lewiston Assembly of God.
Survivors include three sons, Robert M. Schmidt Jr. of North Branch and Frederick Schmidt and Carl Schmidt, both of Niagara Falls; a stepbrother, David Pryor of Niagara Falls; a sister, Ruth Boland of Dunmore, Pa.; her former husband, Robert M. Schmidt Sr. of North Branch; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Thursday in Rhoney Funeral Home. Burial will be scheduled.
