Alfonso Cohill of Buffalo, a longtime city employee, died Friday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 67.
Born in Springfield, Ohio, he had lived in this area since 1965. He was an Army veteran, serving in a Special Services unit.
Mr. Cohill had worked in various capacities for the City of Buffalo from the mid-1970s until retiring in 1995, when he was working in the Office of Contract Compliance.
An athlete, he helped coach girls softball and boys baseball teams in the city.
Survivors, all of Buffalo, include his wife, the former Cordelia Brew; two daughters, Renita and Mary; a son, Jonathan; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Lombardo Funeral Home, 473 Niagara St., after a wake at 4.
