Century Mark: Detroit reached 100 points for the sixth straight season. Buffalo has done it six times in franchise history. If the Sabres reach 100 points this season, it will be a first since they finished second in the Adams Division in 1983-84.
Smart Money: Nashville's two-year, $9 million investment in Paul Kariya already has paid off. Kariya entered the weekend with 25 goals and a franchise record 70 points. His 45 assists this season also are most in club history.
Blues' Blues: St. Louis was officially eliminated from the postseason last week, ending a 25-year stretch in which it made the playoffs. It was the longest active streak in professional sports and third-longest in NHL history.
