Congressman announces annual art competition
BATH -- U.S. Rep. John R. "Randy" Kuhl Jr., R-Hammondsport, has announced his second annual Congressional Art Competition for high school students in the 29th Congressional District.
The contest will end with a reception here May 13, and the winner's painting will hang in a heavily traveled corridor of the U.S. Capitol for a year. The works of runners-up will hang in Kuhl's district offices in Bath, Fairport and Olean.
Each school may submit up to five art works, one piece per student. Art teachers have received entry forms, which must arrive in one of Kuhl's offices by April 28. For more information call Nancy Clark in the Bath office, (607) 776-9142.
