Business people Hires, Promotions & Honors

Leisure Craft Pools, an in-ground swimming pool restoration and maintenance company located in Lancaster, appointed Jeff Kohlhas chief operating officer. Kohlhas will oversee the company's four departments-- Tile, Plaster, Concrete and Service. Previously, he managed the Concrete Department. He holds a ceramic engineering degree from Alfred University.

The New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association named Gary Praetzel, Galeb Rizek and Joe Sanelli to its board of directors for three-year terms. Praetzel is dean of the Niagara University College of Hospitality and Tourism Management; Rizek is owner of the Econo Lodge at the Falls in Niagara Falls and Sanelli is general manager of the Sheraton Four Points in Niagara Falls.


Mutual of Omaha honored Roger Malcolm with its 2005 Field Management award. Malcolm is district manager at the Williamsville office located at 6245 Sheridan Drive. Also, agent Samuel Gugliuzza was honored with the 2005 Chairman's Council award and Ronald Gniazdowski received the 2005 Sales Leader Roundtable award.


Indoor Health Care Network co-founder, Bill Zimmermann, was selected among New York's "Top 100 in Business Leadership" for this year's national Business Advisory Council awards. The network is the first national network that deals directly with health care professionals and their patients, focused on the patient's indoor environment.


Praxair Inc., an industrial gases company, appointed Rick Kenny vice president in the Global Operations Excellence Group at the company's Technology Center in the Town of Tonawanda. Kenny joined the company in 1974 and most recently served as director, safety and operations for Praxair Europe.
