Alphonse Frank Sacco, a Kenmore resident and former mechanic, died Friday in Hospice of Buffalo after a long illness. He was 77.
He was born in Buffalo, and joined the Navy, where he attended to seaplanes. He worked for more than 40 years at FN Burt Co. on Walden Avenue as a shipping clerk and mechanic, retiring in 1992.
Mr. Sacco moved to Valrico, Fla. in 1994. He was a volunteer for the Hillsborough County sheriff's office, where he was a deputy parking enforcer for handicap parking and fire lanes.
Survivors include his companion of 23 years, Patricia Kasperczyk; two daughters, Linda Sacco and Rose Marie Bacon, both of Kenmore; four sisters, Mary Tront, Sylvia Maraschiello and Madeline Paterangelo, all of Niagara Falls, and Carmella Hardesty of Buffalo; a brother, Sam of West Seneca; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 6 p.m. today in the Dengler Roberts Funeral Home Rolling Chapel, 3000 Delaware Ave., Kenmore.
