James R. Higgins, a supermarket produce manager and auto racing enthusiast, died unexpectedly Thursday in his Attica home. He was 68.
Born in Attica, Mr. Higgins was a lifetime Attica-area resident and worked as a produce manager for the A&P store in Attica. He also worked part-time as an auctioneer.
Mr. Higgins drove stock cars at the Wyoming County Speedway in Perry and was an avid NASCAR enthusiast who attended some of the bigger races.
Survivors include two brothers; David of Florence, Ky., and Richard J. of Syracuse; and one sister, Marilyn A. Wilson of Attica.
A graveside service will be held in Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
