Ann M. D'Auria, longtime dietitian for the Buffalo Psychiatric Center, died Monday in her Town of Tonawanda home after a long illness. She was 83.
The former Ann Varco was born in Buffalo and attended St. Mary's Business School.
She worked as a dietitian at Buffalo Psychiatric Center from 1963 to 1983, when she retired.
Mrs. D'Auria enjoyed traveling to Europe, cooking and baking, and preparing St. Joseph Day Tables, Easter breads and Italian cookies. She was particularly proud of her Italian heritage.
Her husband of 59 years, Anthony, died in 2002.
Mrs. D'Auria is survived by a son, Carl of Kenmore; a sister, Rose Santoro of Buffalo; and five grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be offered at a later date. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
