Robert Hauser, purchasing agent, veteran Feb. 14, 1925 -- Jan. 20, 2006

Services for Robert J. Hauser, a native of Buffalo, were held in Phoenix. Burial was in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

Mr. Hauser died Jan. 20 in Arizona State Veterans Home after a lengthy illness. He was 80.

Born in South Buffalo, he was a World War II veteran, serving as a paratrooper with the Army's 82nd Airborne Division. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge.

Mr. Hauser worked as a purchasing agent for Erb Co. in Buffalo for several years before moving West. He lived in California before moving to Arizona.

While living in Buffalo, Mr. Hauser had played drums with the Tony Sperry Trio and with the Modernairs.

His wife, Mary, died in 1987.

Surviving are a stepdaughter, Kathryn Parry of Beverly Hills, Calif.; a sister, Jean Howard of Marilla; a brother, Raymond of Santa Maria, Calif.; a granddaughter; and his companion, Klara Fidler of New River, Ariz.
