Michael W. Stanko, a former Buffalonian, died Monday in a Syracuse hospital after a long illness. He was 55.
Born in Scranton, Pa., he was raised in Buffalo and previously lived in Cheektowaga.
A mechanic by trade, he enjoyed rebuilding cars.
He is survived by three daughters, Bobbi Jo Strickland of Cheektowaga, Michelle Pyc of Newfane and Patricia Tatta of West Seneca; a son, Michael of Cheektowaga; his mother, Dolores of Alden; two sisters, Clara Baron of Cheektowaga and Catherine Lauricella of Alden; two brothers, Stephen and John, both of Florida; and 15 grandchildren.
Services will be scheduled.
