Park upgrade to expand docking facilities
CARLTON -- Up to eight boats at a time will be able to dock at upgraded Orleans County Marine Park facilities later this year.
Orleans County legislators were told Wednesday that the upgrade is expected to cost between $75,000 and $80,000, and the work may be done by August.
Renovations are expected to take three weeks.
The park, in north-central Orleans County, is a spot county officials hope will continue to attract boaters, fishermen and tourists. Boaters will be able to dock for two to three hours at a time.
The county kicked in $30,000 and received $50,000 in state grants.
