Graham Corp. wins contract worth $1.8 million

Graham Corp. has won a pair of contracts worth $1.8 million to make vacuum systems for oil refineries in the Gulf Coast, the Batavia-based manufacturer said Thursday.

The contract, from a "major oil company" that Graham did not identify, will start adding to the heat transfer and vacuum equipment maker's sales during the first three months of next year.

One of the systems will be used on an upgrade project to help the refinery reduce sulfur emissions and meet more stringent environmental standards, Graham said.

The other will be used to retrofit a refinery so it can process heavier grades of crude oil.
