A memorial Mass for Elizabeth A. Whitefield will be offered at 11:30 a.m. April 1 in St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 65 Ridgewood Ave.
Mrs. Whitefield, a native of Buffalo, died March 7 in a Las Vegas nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was 81.
Born Elizabeth Mahar, she was a graduate of Mount Mercy Academy and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
Mrs. Whitefield had worked as a public health nurse for Erie County before moving to Las Vegas, where she continued her nursing career in the maternity ward of Sunrise Hospital.
Her husband, Robert R., died in 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Beth Gardner of Las Vegas; three sons, Robert of Yelma, Wash., Raymond of Reno, Nev., and David of Las Vegas; a brother, Kevin Mahar Sr. of Buffalo; and 11 grandchildren.
Services and burial were in Las Vegas.
