Madie Ross, a homemaker, died Friday in her Buffalo home after a brief illness. She was 89.
Born Madie Jackson in Laran, La., she attended public schools there.
Mrs. Ross moved to Buffalo with her family in 1967.
A homemaker all her life, she had been a member of Greater Hope Baptist Church since 1989.
Her husband, Lawrence, died about 10 years ago.
Surviving are four daughters, Pearl, Lola, Relda and Annie, all of Buffalo; eight sons, Ondell of Spearsville, La., Ollie of Salem, N.J., and Willie, Hersey, Eddie, Billy, Floyd and John, all of Buffalo; a sister, Vernestine Roberts of Cleveland; 39 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Greater Hope Baptist Church, Verplanck Street, after a wake at noon. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca.
