Eleanor Stier, an active churchwoman, died Monday in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 74.
Born in Buffalo, she attended Buffalo schools and moved to Niagara Falls in the late 1970s.
Mrs. Stier was employed for more than 10 years by Frontier Linen. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister.
Her husband, Stephen, died in 2001.
She is survived by three sons, David of Amherst and Andrew and Peter, both of Niagara Falls; two daughters, Laura Murphy of Buffalo and Camille LoVerdi of Niagara Falls; three sisters, Margaret Rohe of Buffalo, Dorothy Evans of Tonawanda and Barbara Prebis of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Prayers were said in Lane Funeral Home. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
