>Probe of homicide continues in Lockport

LOCKPORT -- Police Tuesday continued to investigate the city's first homicide in 15 months.

Robert J. Camarra, 54, of 438 West Ave., was bludgeoned to death in his home Sunday night after someone forced their way in. He died of a blow to the head, police said.

Detective Capt. Lawrence Eggert said the crime did not appear to be random, and that Camarra likely knew his killer.

>Woman sought in murder that took place at party

NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. -- A Thorold, Ont., woman is being sought by Niagara Regional Police in connection with a murder earlier this month at a party in Niagara Falls, Ont., police reported.

Alexandra Zappavigna, 20, is wanted as an accessory to murder after the fact for accompanying 25-year-old Lloyd "Butchie" Orman of Niagara Falls outside of the Niagara Region, police reported.

Zappavigna is described as a white, 5-foot-4 and weighing about 110 pounds. She has a thin build with medium length, straight brown hair.

A nationwide warrant for Orman's arrest has been issued. He is wanted for murder in the March 8 shooting of Phillip James Simmons in Niagara Falls. Simmons died the next day. Orman remains at large.

A third man, Shilo Beals of Niagara Falls turned himself into police March 13 after he learned he was wanted by police.

>1 dead, 1 wounded in Amherst shooting

One person was killed and another seriously injured late Tuesday in an apparent double shooting that ended up in a parking lot of an Eggertsville pizzeria.

Amherst police detectives were summoned to Leonardi's Pizzeria, 614 Grover Cleveland Highway, in response to the report of two people shot.

The dead victim was still in the driver's seat of the green sport utility vehicle as police awaited the arrival of the Erie County medical examiner early today. The other victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital.

It is unclear where the shooting occurred. There was blood both outside and inside the vehicle, which was still idling.
