Services for Irene S. Hardie, a longtime administrator for Roswell Park Cancer Institute, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Amigone Funeral Home, 569 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Mrs. Hardie, a Cheektowaga resident, died Sunday in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a brief illness. She was 85.
Born Irene Sabo in McAdoo in Pennsylvania's coal-mining country, she attended schools there and moved to Buffalo with her husband, William C.
She was a licensed real estate broker and later head bookkeeper for Roswell Park Cancer Institute, responsible for preparing the hospital's budgets and presenting them annually in Albany.
For the last five years, she lived at Maplewood Health Care Center, Cheektowaga. She was a member of Hedstrom Memorial Baptist Church, Cheektowaga.
Her husband died in 1998.
Surviving are three daughters, Carol H. Kostecke of Rochester, Sandra Trazska of Sloan and Irene Jones of Rapid City, S.D.; two sons, William of Cheektowaga and Jack of Buffalo; a sister, Pearl Yuhas of Ocean City, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
