A Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond A. Olszewski will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 115 O'Connell Ave., after prayers at 9:15 in Sieck & Mast Funeral Home, 250 Orchard Park Road, West Seneca. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Mr. Olszewski, of Cheektowaga, died Saturday in Mercy Hospital. He was 83.
He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. from 1949 to 1977, when he retired. In recognition of his career, Dec. 15, 1979, was declared Raymond Olszewski Day in Lackawanna.
Mr. Olszewski was vice president of Steelworkers Local 2603 and served as shop steward in 1960 and chief steward from 1962 to 1976.
Born in Cheektowaga, he served in the Army from 1942 to 1945 and was stationed in Germany and France.
Mr. Olszewski was a member of Curley's Key Club in Lackawanna; Hamburg Township Post 1419, Veterans of Foreign Wars; and Lodge 992, Loyal Order of Moose, Hamburg.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, the former Dolores D. Colosanto, and a brother, Norman Oley of Las Vegas.
