Marie A. Hoffman, a longtime Wilson homemaker who also worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield, died Saturday in The Waters of Gasport nursing facility. She was 80.
Born Marie Auten in Buffalo, she worked for many years for Blue Cross and Blue Shield doing statistics. Before that, she worked in the office at the Chevrolet engine plant in the Town of Tonawanda.
She left Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 1958, married Robert Hoffman and moved to Wilson. She became a homemaker, raising three children.
Mrs. Hoffman enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, skiing and golfing.
Survivors, besides her husband of 47 years, include a daughter, Linda Hurley of New Jersey; two sons, Craig of Alabama and David of San Diego; two sisters, Evelyn Wojtkowski of North Tonawanda and Nancy Delo of Williamsville; and three grandchildren.
A private service will be held. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.
