A Mass of Christian Burial for Dr. Charles J. Lesh, a psychiatrist who practiced in Batavia for more than three decades, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 303 E. Main St.
Dr. Lesh died Thursday in United Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. He was 61.
A native of Buffalo and graduate of Canisius High School and Hobart College, he received his medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. In 1973, he became a staff psychiatrist at Genesee County Mental Health Center and served as a consultant at both St. Jerome and Genesee Memorial hospitals.
In 1975, he was appointed director of mental health services for Genesee County, a post he held for three years before establishing a private practice.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Bettina Telarico Lesh; three sons, Vincent and Ted, both of Buffalo, and Dr. Charles J. Jr. of New Haven, Conn.; two daughters, Natalie Schaffer of Orchard Park and Anna Dinehart of Batavia; his mother, Mildred of Kenmore; and eight grandchildren.
