A service for Clyde S. Davis of Detroit, a former Buffalo resident, was held today in First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca.
Mr. Davis died March 4 in a Houston hospital after a brief illness. He was 82.
Born in Wynn, Ark., he came to Buffalo in 1956 and was self-employed, operating a small grocery store at Fillmore and Woodlawn avenues and driving his own cab and truck.
He was a charter member and trustee of First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He moved to Detroit in 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Katrina of Buffalo and Renita of Nashville, Tenn.; a son, Leslie of Buffalo; a brother, the Rev. Hosea of Buffalo; two sisters, Notrie Scott of Houston and a LaVine Carroll of Denver; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
