Cuba man faces drunken driving charges

FRANKLINVILLE -- A Cuba man faces driving while intoxicated charges after being pulled over by Cattaraugus County sheriff's deputies Friday night.

Deputies said they observed Donald N. Williams, 50, cross the center line on Route 16 and, when they pulled him over, they noticed an odor of alcohol. Williams failed a field sobriety test and was charged with DWI, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent and unsafe lane movement.

Five more drug arrests made in Falls, Ont.

NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. -- Niagara Regional Police's Street Crime Unit arrested five people on drug trafficking charges Friday, bringing to 40 the number of people charged with drug counts by the unit in the last 24 days.

Police identified those arrested on single counts of trafficking a controlled substance as Tabetha Symonds, 36; Suzanne Warden, 38, and Meghan Doherty, 23, all of Niagara Falls, Ont.; Christian Joy, 32, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Brian Deschenes, 27, of Grimsby, Ont.

Deschenes also was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition.
