First Niagara Bank promoted Robert N. Murphy to first vice president of compliance, Marlene I. Gonzalez to vice president, and Mary Scamacca to vice president, facilities management. Murphy, who joined the bank in 1991, also serves as First Niagara's corporate secretary. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA from the University at Buffalo. Gonzalez, Hamburg branch manager, joined the bank in 2000. She is a Buffalo State College graduate. Scamacca, a Daemen College graduate, joined the bank in 1999.

Greater Buffalo Savings Bank promoted Kathleen Peter to banking officer. Peter is a commercial loan administrator with the bank having previously worked in the same capacity for 11 years with Fleet National Bank. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo and lives in Williamsville.

The United Way of Buffalo and Erie County's Emerging Leaders Society elected John J. Christopher to its advisory board. Christopher is a partner in Hodgson Russ' Labor and Employment and Education Practice Groups.

The New York State Women's Council of Realtors named Connie Holovics president elect. Holovics is a broker associate in the RealtyUSA Amherst/Clarence office.

Wal-Mart named Andy Delasandro store manager at 4255 McKinley Parkway, Hamburg. Delasandro was previously co-manager in Corning and Mansfield, Pa., and began his duties as manager on Feb. 4. He has seven years of retail experience and began his Wal-Mart career in 1998 as a cashier in Pittston, Pa.

The Resource Center, the Chautauqua County Chapter of NYSARC, the New York State Association for Retarded Children, named Lucille Brooks director of fiscal services. Brooks, a CPA, previously was with the Seneca Allegany Gaming Corp. and Seneca Niagara Falls Gaming Corp. She is a graduate of Fredonia State College.
