>Hinsdale man charged with driving drugged
BELMONT -- Kevin T. Follett, 44, of Hinsdale faces arraignment on a felony charge of driving under the influence of drugs in Allegany County Court.
A grand jury Wednesday indicted Follett in connection with an accident Sept. 7 in Angelica.
He will be arraigned when a judge is assigned to the case.
>Friendship man indicted on child sex abuse counts
BELMONT -- James E. Quant Jr., 30, of Friendship was indicted Wednesday on child sexual abuse charges.
Assistant District Attorney Amanda Newton said the Allegany County grand jury charged Quant with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two of endangering the welfare of a child.
Quant is accused of subjecting two children younger than 11 to sexual contact in Wellsville in September, she said.
>Girlfriend accuses man of assault with car
JAMESTOWN -- State Police arrested a Frewsburg man Wednesday after his girlfriend accused him of running over her with his car.
Thomas Jones, 42, whose address was not given, has been charged with assault and reckless endangerment.
The woman said that as she was getting out of the vehicle, Jones accelerated, causing her to fall. Jones was arraigned in Poland Town Court and sent to county jail in Mayville.
>Felony DWI plea nets state prison term
LOCKPORT -- Sammy M. Cole Jr., 33, of Nash Road, Wheatfield, was sentenced Friday to 1 1/3 to four years in state prison for felony driving while intoxicated.
Cole had pleaded guilty before Niagara County Judge Peter L. Broderick Sr. after his Oct. 29 arrest in the Town of Niagara that produced a probation violation on Cole's 2002 conviction for first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and driving while impaired.
