Marcia A. Lenkiewicz, a General Motors employee who was an active volunteer in her church, died Friday in Beechwood Nursing Home, Getzville, after a brief illness. She was 71.
Born Marcia Agrippino in Syracuse, she moved to Buffalo as an adult and lived in the Town of Tonawanda. She worked in accounting for General Motors in Syracuse for seven years in the 1950s. After raising her family, she returned to General Motors in the Town of Tonawanda, where she worked from 1977 to 1987.
Mrs. Lenkiewicz was an active volunteer at St. Edmund's Catholic Church in Town of Tonawanda, where she was a Eucharistic minister. She also volunteered as a reading aide at Glendale Elementary School.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Stanley; one daughter, Cynthia Polek of New York City; one son, Mark of Atlanta; one sister, Mary Mangino of Syracuse; and one brother, Anthony Agrippino of Syracuse.
A prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, followed at 10 by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Edmund's Church, 530 Ellicott Creek Road. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
