THEME AUCTION: A theme tray basket and auction to benefit the St. Luke Youth Program will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 900 Maryvale Drive, Cheektowaga. Admission is $4, which includes 25 basket tickets, dessert and beverage. Auction tickets are $1 for 3 or $5 for 20.

BENEFIT: The Summit Educational Resources, a private provider of academic and therapeutic services to children with autism and related behavioral challenges, will sponsor a Monte Carlo night to benefit its $2.5 million capital campaign. The event will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Temple Beth Am, 4660 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. The evening will feature games of chance, an auction and refreshments. Tickets are $10. SPELLING BEE: Antoine M. Thompson, Council member of the Masten District, will host the fifth annual WNY Spelling Bee, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Early Childhood Center P.S. 61, 453 Leroy Ave. All students in grades three through eight are eligible. To register, call 851-5145.

TEEN BUSINESS: A free program to teach young people 12 and older the fundamentals of starting a business runs from 10 a.m. to noon every Saturday in the youth center at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 345 Seventh St. The program is part of the church's Youth With a Purpose initiative. VEGAS NITE: The South Lockport Volunteer Fire Company will hold its spring "Vegas Nite," featuring blackjack, two different wheels and more. The benefit will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the fire company, 5666 S. Transit Road, Lockport. Proceeds will be used to purchase new fire fighting equipment. The cost is $5, which includes beer, pop and snacks.

PARADE: The Downtown Jamestown Development Corporation announced the annual St Patrick's Day Parade will get under way at 1 p.m. Saturday. The parade will organize at noon in Baker Park and proceed along Fourth Street, then south on Main Street to Brooklyn Square.

SPORTS SHOW: A sports memorabilia and collectible show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Hearthstone Manor, 333 Dick Road, Depew, with more than 50 vendors and 150 vendor tables. PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The Marilla Kiwanis Club will hold a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday in Marilla Firemen's Recreation Hall, Two Rod Road and West Avenue. Included will be all you can eat pancakes with pure maple syrup and sausage, juice, coffee and tea. Raffle baskets will be available and all proceeds will benefit community projects and local scholarships.
