Hindi Samaj to celebrate traditional harvest festival

Hindi Samaj, a cultural organization of the Hindi-speaking Indian community of Buffalo and Western New York, will celebrate Holi and Baisakhi -- a harvest festival -- beginning with a social hour at 6 p.m. March 25 in the Hindu Cultural Center, Getzville.

Dinner and a cultural program will follow. Rita Kaushal is chairwoman of the cultural program; Ranjana Mital is in charge of dinner arrangements.

Reservations should be made before Saturday with Sujata Kishore.

Tickets are $12 for members, $15 for non-members and $8 for students 5 to 15. Children under 5 are free.

Newly elected officers of the organization are president, Sarita Kansal; vice president and treasurer, Kishore; secretary, Pratibha Sukumaran; cultural secretary, Kaushal; and public relations secretary, Meena Rustgi.
