Loretta P. Baer, co-owner of a family printing business for more than 20 years, died March 8 in the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Cheektowaga, after a brief illness. She was 83.
Born Loretta Krakowiak in Buffalo, she graduated from Girls Vocational High School.
She was co-owner of Baer Printing from 1942 until the death of her husband, Clifford, in 1963. She later was a waitress at Adam's Como Lounge in Cheektowaga, a clerical worker at the Courier-Express and a bakery clerk at Tombak's in the Broadway Market. She worked as an elections inspector from 1980 to 2000.
Mrs. Baer was a member and former board member of the Schiller Park Senior Citizens. She also was a volunteer at Adam Plewacki Post 799, American Legion.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna Marie; a son, Lawrence C.; a sister, Eleanore Block; and a brother, Edwin, all of Cheektowaga; and two granddaughters.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Saturday in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
