Howard E. Clark, retired chief engineer <br> Jan. 20, 1920 -- March 13, 2006

Services for Howard E. Clark of Valparaiso, Ind., a retired chief engineer at the Bethlehem Steel plant in Lackawanna, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Eden United Methodist Church, 2820 E. Church St. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Eden.

The Eden native died Monday in Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus. He was 86.

He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and served in the Army Air Forces during World War II.

Mr. Clark retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. in 1978.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Valparaiso and a volunteer at the Valparaiso Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, the former Wilma R. "Billie" Randall; a daughter, Roslyn Besterman of Valparaiso; a son, Rodney of North Granby, Conn.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
