Eugene H. Wink of Amherst, a retired advertising executive, died Thursday in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 89.
Mr. Wink was born in Milwaukee. He graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and later served in the Coast Guard during World War II.
A resident of this area since 1954, Mr. Wink worked as an advertising executive with Weil, Levy and King advertising company.
He also worked with W.J. Keller Printing Co. and most recently with Quinlan & Co.
He retired in the late 1980s but continued to work part time for a number of years.
Mr. Wink was past president of the Buffalo Craftsmen Club and a former member of a local Elks lodge, Masonic temple and Ismailia Shrine Temple.
He enjoyed photography and traveling to Las Vegas.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, the former Virginia L. Stevens, and a daughter, Beverly Franasiak of Lockport.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sunrise Mausoleum, Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda, where inurnment will follow.
