Alfred W. Brose April 24, 1927 -- March 13, 2006

Alfred W. Brose, a welder for Durez Plastics, North Tonawanda, for more than 37 years, died Monday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness. He was 78. A native of North Tonawanda, he moved to Pekin as a child with his family. He attended Pekin schools.

He retired from Durez in 1986.

Mr. Brose, an avid sportsman, built stock cars for the Triechler Brothers. He was also a member of the Sanbornite Seniors and enjoyed gardening and watching NASCAR races.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, the former Helen M. Rinker; two daughters, Patricia M. Lank of Middlesex, N.C., and Janet L. McBride of Cato; and two grandsons.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn. Burial will be in Lynhaven Cemetery, Lyndonville.
