>Motorcyclist killed in crash in Hamburg is identified

Authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed Saturday on McKinley Parkway in Hamburg.

Michael W. Crawford, 44, of Nelson Avenue, hit the side of a minivan at about 2 p.m. south of McKinley's intersection with Big Tree Road and Southwestern Boulevard. He was pronounced dead in Mercy Hospital.

The driver of the van, Charlene M. Crissman, 27, of Hamburg, was not injured. Her passenger, Cynthia Green, 54, was taken to Erie County Medical Center with a head injury and later released.


>HSBC Bank branch on Genesee robbed

A Genesee Street HSBC bank branch was robbed by a man in his late teens or early 20s early Monday morning, Buffalo police reported.

HSBC representatives told the Buffalo police that the robber entered the branch at 2016 Genesee St. at about 9:45 a.m. and handed a note to a teller demanding money.

The teller passed it to another teller, who read the note and handed over a quantity of cash in small bills to the robber.

He was described as a black male between 16 and 21 years of age. He was 5-foot-6, weighed about 180 pounds and had black hair, brown eyes and a dark skin tone, according to police reports.
