Services for Michael W. "Bubba" Crawford, a Town of Hamburg employee, will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Lombardo Funeral Home, 3060 Abbott Road, Hamburg. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Orchard Park.
Mr. Crawford, of Woodlawn, died Saturday from injuries suffered when he was struck by a vehicle while riding his motorcycle on McKinley Parkway in Hamburg. He was 44.
Mr. Crawford was born in Buffalo and raised in Hamburg, where he and his mother were taken in for a time by family friends Philip and Patricia Caligiuri.
He attended Frontier Central School and later earned his general education diploma. He served in the Army during the late 1970s.
Mr. Crawford worked for the Town of Hamburg's Building and Grounds Department for 16 years, starting out as a laborer and more recently being promoted to a light-equipment operator.
Mr. Crawford was a member of the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company. He was a Freemason and enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. He also was a Democratic committeeman for the Town of Hamburg.
Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife, the former Jeanette Anderson; a son, Gregory of Woodlawn; three sisters, Deborah of Lackawanna and Barbara Kazukictus and Beverly Bier, both of Angelica; and two brothers, H. Robert Fritzke and William Fritzke, both of North Tonawanda.
