>Rally Saturday will call for U.S. pullout from Iraq
A rally on the third anniversary of the start the Iraq War will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Lafayette Square, Main and Court streets.
The rally, -- one of hundreds scheduled around the world Saturday -- will call for American troops to be brought home now. The event is co-sponsored by a number of organizations, including the Western New York Peace Center, Amnesty International Chapter 565 and Western New York Veterans for Peace.
"This war has been a disaster from the start," said Colin Eager, executive director of the Peace Center. "Two thousand, three hundred American soldiers have been killed, along with an estimated 100,000 Iraqi civilians, while the war has cost U.S. taxpayers almost $250 billion."
