A Mass of Christian Burial for Peter G. Murphy of Clarence Center, retired owner of Murphy Caisson Corp. in Akron and former
supervisor of

McKinney Drilling Co., was offered today in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Clarence.

Mr. Murphy, a native of Cleveland, died Friday at home. He was 75.

He had lived in the Buffalo area since 1963. He had been president of H&M Foundations in Akron and a Great Lakes dredge and dock pile driver. He established Murphy Caisson Corp. in 1985 and retired in 1993.

A boating enthusiast, Mr. Murphy was a member of the Buffalo Launch Club from 1966 to 1998 and the Antique Boat Society. He won several antique boat awards.

Survivors include a daughter, Bridget E. Szczepanski of Williamsville; a son, Patrick of Clarence; a brother, Franklin J. of Chicago; and a grandchild.
