Catherine J. Martinez, a homemaker and mother of three, died Saturday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a brief illness. She was 47.
She was born Catherine Richardson in Niagara Falls, where she attended Niagara Falls High School.
She was a stay-at-home mother who raised three children. In the past two years, as the children got older, she had worked in the housekeeping department at Seneca Niagara Casino, Niagara Falls, before she became ill.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Richard; a son, Richard of Niagara Falls; two daughters, Laura and Christina, both of Wheatfield; three sisters, Sheila Moran and Anne Hooks, both of Niagara Falls, and Barbara Wilkins of Derby; and a grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1112 South Ave., Niagara Falls, after prayers at 9 in Rhoney Funeral Home, 1124 Ontario Ave., Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
