Anthony J. McKevitt of Williamsville, retired finance manager of American Investment Co. and Sterling Finance, died Saturday in the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Cheektowaga, after suffering a stroke. He was 90.
Mr. McKevitt, who was born in Bath, served as a staff sergeant in the Army Air Forces 321st Fighter Control Squadron.
He retired in 1980 and wintered in Pompano Beach, Fla., until four years ago. While there, he worked at various Florida golf clubs as a hobby.
Mr. McKevitt was an enthusiastic golfer and played several times a week until his death. He was a member of the Audubon Men's Golf Club. He also was an avid fisherman and fished daily during the summer months.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, the former Geraldine Stiglmeier; two daughters, Patricia Connors of Williamsville and Sarasota, Fla., and Nancy Kane of Williamsville; and two grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 4 p.m. Monday in the Newman Center Chapel on the North Campus of the University at Buffalo in Amherst.
