*The next coach at Canisius will have to determine if talented forward Corey Herring still wants to be part of this program. AD Bill Maher said he expects Herring will be on the squad next year but the new coach better get Herring to buy into the team concept so he doesn't crush the chemistry on the floor like he did this year.

*Niagara coach Joe Mihalich is already thinking of next season, when he'll have six of his seven players back and add four newcomers. "I can't wait until (practice starts on) October 15th," he said after losing to Iona in the MAAC Tournament. "You never want your season to be over. It's all you live for and work for in those four months. It goes too fast."

*The 38 points by Ball State's Skip Mills on Monday at the University at Buffalo were four off the arena record for a visitor set by Bowling Green's Keith McLeod in 2002.
