>Hearing set on request for used car rezoning

NIAGARA FALLS -- The Niagara Falls Planning Board will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. March 8 on a proposal by the owner of Tom Jacob Auto Sales to rezone a Church Avenue property from residential to commercial.

Thomas Jacob purchased 3320 Church Ave., where a formerly nonconforming transmission shop was located, and wants to use the land to expand his used car business at 327 Hyde Park Blvd.

>Art center dinner to fund scholarships

MIDDLEPORT -- The Barge Canal Art Center will hold an all-you-can-eat Italian dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today in the Masonic Lodge, 20 Main St.

The dinner is the group's largest annual fund-raiser, providing art and music scholarships for two Royalton-Hartland High School seniors.

Tickets are $7 for adults; $3.50 for children 3 to 10; and free for children 2 and under. Take-outs will also be available at the same prices. Tickets will be sold at the door.
